Movie Report

Rakta Charitra directed by Ram Gopal Verma is not just a film, its a most violent film of Hindi cinema so far. Ram Gopal Varma once again presents a gritty tale, full of bloodshed after his previous films Satya and Company. The film is based on a true story and not for those who are weak hearted.

Narasimha Reddy is a powerful politician in Aanandapuram of Andhra Pradesh. He is a reasonable guy and he wants to distribute the power that is dominated by Reddy's to another group that is economically backward. He asks his lieutenant Veerabhadrayya (Rajebdra Gupta) to take over the responsibility of nominating candidates from the other caste.

Nagamani Reddy (Kota Srinivasa Rao) who don't like the other caste people to come up poisons the mind of Narasimha Reddy. Hurt by the sudden turnaround of Narasimha Reddy, Veerabhadrayya starts his own faction to contest in elections. In the process Narasimha Reddy kills Veerabhadrayya and his elder son Shankar (Sushant Singh). Pratap Ravi (Vivek Oberoi) who is never interested in the disputes has no option left now but for wage a war against the family of Narasimha Reddy.

The rest of the story is all about how he fights and kills the family members of Narasimha Reddy and how he climbs up the ladder to become an alternate system using the political support given by Shivaji Rao (Shatrughna Sinha).

Performance wise, Vivek Oberoi is perfect for his role. He is super efficient. Shatrughan Sinha is remarkable. He enacts his role with amazing ease. Abhimanyu Singh is brilliant. Rajendar Gupta and Sushant Singh are okay. Radhika Apte is fine. Ashwini Kalsekar is excellent. Zarina Wahab is top notch. Sudeep and Darshan Jariwala are wasted. Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Shyam, Sushmita Mukherjee, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Kota Srinivasa Rao shine in their respective parts.

On the whole, Rakta Charitra is an extremely violent film. The film is actually for those who love to watch aggression, violence, bloodshed and brutality on the silver screen. Strictly not recommended for families, women, children and those who are faint-hearted.

Dus Tola is a 2010 Hindi comedy and drama film, remade from the Hit Malayalam film of the 80's Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, directed by Ajoy Varma and starring Manoj Bajpai in the lead role. Dus Tola was released on 22 October 2010. Distributed in the U.S. and co-produced by Warner Bros., it is the forth Bollywood movie made and distributed in partnership with a major Hollywood studio, following Sony's Saawariya (2007) and Walt Disney Pictures' animated feature Roadside Romeo (2008) and Warner Bros. Pictures' Chandni Chowk To China (2009).[1] It is the second Hindi film under the banner of Warner Bros. Pictures.
Inspired by the folk tales passed on from one generation to another, Dus Tola is a simply told story of victory of goodness over greed. The story is set in Sonapur, a quaint little town that has its share of eccentrics. Shankar (Manoj Bajpai), the local goldsmith, is head-over-heels in love with his neighbour's daughter Suvarnalata (Aarti Chhabria) much to the chagrin of her father Daya Shastri (Dilip Prabahvalkar). Shastri is bent upon finding her a suitable groom from Dubai and cover her with gold at the wedding, which will help him climb up the social ladder. Armed with nothing but a heart of pure gold, Shankar sets out to overcome the obstacles of devious plots and heartache. Dus Tola, a slice-of-life tale which mirrors our society, and is light-hearted in its narrative.

It is the year 2008, an American man, named George, packing high tech gear, and evil intentions, makes the arduous journey into the heart of the forbidden forest.
