Getting Back On Track

This past week with school has been absolutely crazy!
Between homework, quizzes, readings, and group projects I have definitely not made the time needed for my body to re-coop with some healthy food, good exercise, and lots of sleep.
The only exercise I've done is walk the 30 minutes to and from school.
Plus there was hardly any decent food in the house meaning I had my share of In-n-Out drive-thru trips.
This obviously calls for some re-grouping, so I ask myself: what changes can I make this week so that my body is fueled properly & has enough energy to get through the week?

Although I fell off the healthy eating/exercising track this past week,
I try to accept the fact that I'm not perfect and am not too hard on myself.
I find that when I'm hard on myself about this kind of stuff then I feel guilty,
which impedes my progress more than anything.
I just hop back on the train and am plugging at it all over again!

I'm not one to make huge commitments on myself like:
"I have to exercise everyday or I have this consequence"
I know this works for some people, but definitely not for me.
I make it a point to plan exercise dates ahead of time so that I'm much more committed.
I hit up BYU aerobic classes with friends, I joined an intramural basketball team, I hit up Gold's Gym with Ryan, and I also have a Zumba Kinect game to make things fun!
Now that this week is starting to slow down, it was refreshing to go grocery shopping at Winco {seriously the best place ever} to buy a truckload of healthy food to stock us up for the next few weeks.
I had an intramural basketball game on Wednesday & I finally tried out my Zumba Kinect game that Evan got me for my birthday {back in September, I know I'm a horrible sister}.
The game totally kicked my tush but it's nice to feel sore again! :)

the lakers game

Early last week Ryan & I were just doing some homework, minding our own business,
 when I distracted myself with Facebook {because that never happens},
 and stumbled across a post about some cheap Jazz/Lakers tickets that our friends had found and they were looking for some company to go with.
We're totally in!
Wednesday night we made our way up to Salt Lake in our BOMB Lakers gear,
 grabbed some food, and made it to our seats.
Of course we are stuck near some Jazz fans that were drunk out of their minds and they cheered at the stupidest of things.
To keep from offending too many Utah-ites....
I'll just say that I have nothing nice to say about the scary Jazz fans that I've come across at the Energy Solutions Stadium in SLC.
That is all :)
After all our cheering and yelling...our Lakers lost :(
It was seriously the most heartbreaking thing ever!!!
I'm blaming it all on Dwight Howard!
The man can't sink a free throw shot to save his life.
Still a good night out with friends and with the husband!
You know what date I'm excited for?
The USC game this weekend at the Rose Bowl in So-Cal....
GO TROJANS! :D

You're Killing Me Evan!

I'm absolutely horrible at keeping a secret or holding back a surprise.
I just get way too excited and start jittering and can't WAIT to see their expression when...
SURPRISE! AWESOMENESS! I LOVE YOU!

So of course I was just dyyyying when Ryan & I had Evan's birthday surprise planned
 A MONTH IN ADVANCE.

Evan's 19th birthday was this last Friday, February 3rd 2012.
I made him his favorite funfetti cupcakes and got his favorite drink Sangria to go with it.
Ryan and I got off work late that night and headed on over to the roller rink where Evan was at, enjoying a joint birthday party with another friend.
Then on Saturday, we picked him and his friend Ashton up and started making our way up to Salt Lake City to eat at Tucanos.
{You get a free meal if it's your bday!}
{Ashton, Evan}

Sooo Evan pretty much thinks we are just eating at Tucanos, then going to wander around the mall, then head home. Which he is actually pretty excited about.

When the case ACTUALLY was:
We had, for the past MONTH in our possession, 4 tickets to the Jazz VS. Lakers basketball game for that night.

Ryan, Ashton, and I knew what was going down the whooole time and
Evan didn't have a clue.

He was saying comments like:
"Why is it so busy up here? It's because the Lakers are in town, huh!
 That would be really cool if we would have had tickets! Can we just watch it on tv here?"
{Energy Solutions Stadium in SLC}

Oh gosh. It was hilarious to listen to.
We stuffed our faces at the Brazilian Steakhouse, then started walking over to the sports shop.
I tell Evan that we wanted to buy him and his friend Lakers shirt for his birthday.
Evan is STILL not suspicious.
He is trying to get us to stay in the sports shop so he can watch the game.

The kid is freaking KILLING ME cause I'm trying to get his butt out of the store to watch the game LIVE.

We buy the shirts, tell him that we are heading back down to the car to move it farther down the mall....

{You can fast forward through the first 30 seconds}
And thennn Evan proceeds to have a heart attack.
It was the best EVER.

We went to the game, unfortunately the Lakers lost :/
But it was still wayyyy fun!
Got 7-11 hot chocolate on the way home, had awesome conversation, then we crashed in bed!

Hope you had an awesome day, happy birthday Evan :)
