Discount Diva

This is what I wore yesterday for church, and it is practically BEGGING spring to show up. I did some color blocking with the orange sweater against the hot pink top of the dress. Pretty snazzy, huh? So, the other day I had my blogger friend Bree text me asking about a particular pair of black boots I had worn in a post. She asked why my links at the bottom don't lead to the product...but instead to other posts where I've worn it? Let me explain my frens'.

I'm a huge bargain fashionista. Meaning that I will wait patiently until a good quality product goes on mega sale before purchasing. Either that, or I don't mind getting the knock off version as long as it's still good quality. This cupcake necklace was $15 off of Jane.com, and it's a total J.Crew knock-off. These heels? $25 on Just Fab...a knock-off of the popular Steve Madden bow pumps. Who the heck would have known though? Or cared that much to point it out?!

{Remixed: Necklace // Shoes // Dress}

I never pick up anything Steve Madden unless it's on sale...and this purse was $30 at Ross. This is why I don't post links to the products, it's because by the time I post the outfit in where I sport my new discounted piece, the product is already gone! Although, I'll work on warning you all via Instagram and Twitter when there are fabulous deals to be had, deal? Deal :)

Currently Drooling...

Over this Soubrette Marled Cardigan from Anthropologie! These pictures don't even do this sweater justice. I thought it was an additional 50% off the sale price at the Anthro in SLC {it was only for home goods on sale} and almost bought it, but was extremely sad to hear about the real 70 dollar price tag :/

It is comfy, slouchy sexy, awesome quality, and has sequins sewn into the fabric. Um, AMAZING-NESS. So now I sit & wait...for an additional percentage off of sale items. Oh, the frustrating life of a college student in love with Anthropologie!

Over these Anthropologie dresses!
I saw Annie try out the Danita Sheath on her blog Stylish Petite and just about died. It is so classy, fits well {comes with a petite option}, but has edgy leather piping to balance out the girly aspects of the dress. PERFECTION. Speaking of purrr-fection {bahaha}, you know I can't pass up a good leopard print. This spotted cashmere sweater dress is stunning! Hopefully these go on sale so I can snag one up ;)

My Mexico Skirt

Alllll the way back in 2004, my family and family friends {who actually spoke Spanish} took a vacation to Cancun, Mexico for a week. We spent our time on the beach, touring Chichen Itza {a Mayan ruin}, hitting the town {or as much as you can hit the town with 3 kids under 13}, and enjoying all the pina coladas we could manage to stuff into our stomachs. I got a few souvenirs from the trip including: a leather backpack, a mini purse made out of a real frog {which really grosses Ryan out}, and this Zara skirt. Which has now been dubbed "my mexico skirt". I don't know about you, but I associate different times in my life or experiences with particular jewelry, dresses, or clothing so when I wear them again, my heart fills with joy thinking of the last time I wore that item. Dorky, I know ;)
I remember walking into the Zara store in Cancun and being overcome with all the beautiful clothes, I begged my mom for at least ONE piece as a souvenir. We walked through the entire store and came across this amazing skirt, I tried it on...and it was perfect. I'm still surprised that my mom trusted an 8th grader with a $50 skirt...but the fact that I still have it in good condition today just shows how obsessed I am with clothing that is well made, makes me feel beautiful....
Annddddd flares out when I twirl around in it :)

Where Did the Time Go?

This time next week I'll be packing up my apartment here in California and heading back to our home in Provo, UT. I can't help but think: "Where did the time go?! I have so much to do!" Then I realized, that's just how life goes sometimes. We think we have so much time to play with until it slips through our extremely busy fingers. Although, I think it would be more of a shame being too old to see the world/live life to the fullest...and saying those same things. I'm really hoping that with my graduation this next year, I can find a job that fits me to a T. One that will give us the opportunity to catch up, and live life.

What to Wear...

It's finally getting sunny around these parts, but don't start thinking that it will spare your eyes from the glare of my bright white legs in these outfit pictures.
Trick's on you!
I wore this outfit running errands around town the other day, you know the typical Target/Post Office/Grocery store run.
Oh! And by the way for all you Provo/Orem shoppers...
Francesca's Collection's Orem Location is celebrating our 1st birthday this Saturday!
If you make it on down there this Saturday {the 16th} you can enter into a raffle for a purse {so exciting!} and also get a coupon for 20% off of the purchase of a full priced item.
Just remember to let them know that you heard about the discount from my blog!
Also, it's BOGO on jewelry...soooo you should pretty much get your booty on over there.
I hope you all are havin' a terrific tuesday!

Polka Dots & Spring

I have seen polka dot jeans everywhere from Nordstroms to Anthro, but I haen't feel the need to jump on the trend 'till I saw these beauties at Target for a whopping 20 bucks.
Ummmm, score.

If you can't tell from these pics I am most definitely in 70 degree, beautiful, perfect So-Cal weather.
Not in the disgusting snow that I have to look forward to in a couple of days, yuck!
Provo needs to get the HINT that it's supposed to be spring soon.
What the heck am I gonna do with these sundresses & sandals in the snow!?
Well my friends...
I am off to lay by the pool, eat some Pinkberry, and plant some flowers in the garden.
To say that I'm excited to live in So-Cal for the summer is a massive understatement!

The Miracle of a Tailor

I got this skirt as a Christmas present in high school.
There was only a size 12 {not my size} left at Anthropologie
and I picked it out regardless and asked for it as a gift.
I wore it even though it was a tad loose, but this past 6 months I've been determined to get more in shape, and its been driving me crrrrazy that this gorgeous skirt doesn't fit the way I need it to.
I finally sucked it up and paid the 20 bucks at the tailor to get it brought in, and I'm seriously so glad that I did!
I feel like I've lost 15 pounds, what the heck?!
I already have to get straps brought up and hems taken up because of my 5'3 height, but it was a new thing for me to have something taken it at the waist.
Such an ego boost too!
I'm totally with Clinton & Stacy when they say that a tailor is the key to having an awesome wardrobe.
I miss What Not to Wear, I need to track it down online to catch up on it :)
Anddd this was Ryan's get-up for church.
He is learning to pair colors together and I loved the salmon pink with the eggplant purple, classy!
PS, who watched Nashville this last week? WHAT THE HECK?!
I looooove Deacon :D

Any holiday trends that you are excited to wear?

Ruffle Monster

I remember when I saw this shirt on the hanger in the Anthropologie sale section and was like:
"Ummm, who would wear that ruffle monstrosity."

My mom convinced me to at least try it on, and much to my surprise it looked bangin'.
Another point for you mom!
So now I'm the one who would wear that ruffle monstrosity.
The plan was to hit up a dollar movie on Saturday night, so I hurry to get dressed, I walk out of the bathroom to show off my date look and Ryan looks at me and says:
"Bri, you look hot. But you know that we are going to see a dollar movie...in Provo."

So what! I needed an excuse to dress up :)
In the end, the dollar movie was a bust so we meandered Barnes & Noble and Best Buy, then went home to make dinner together and cuddle and watch a movie.
Top: Anthro//Jeans: AE//Hoops: Target//Belt: F21

And during this photo shoot, these dumb shoes broke.
As soon as I'm makin' boo-koo bucks, I'm investing in some nice-ace shoes.
Steve Madden, Zara, ShoeMint, etc etc.
No more of this:
"I'm gonna buy this really cute cheap pair of shoes and they will last me forever!"
Yup, that's false.
Anyone read that "Fast Food Fashion" book yet? Cause I think that's the jist of the book.

Now I'm off to convince my body to get up and work out.
Or at least just to put on the work-out gear.

Hostess Attire

With all the fun summer BBQ parties that Ryan & I planning on having, two bridal showers I'm throwing, and movie nights we are preparing for...I would love me some cute & casual outfits.
The dress & sandal combo is probably one of my most favorite in the WORLD, so I'm loving these ideas from the Anthropologie FB fan page!
I'm due for some dress updating in my closet, anyone seen any cute & inexpensive dresses around?
Happy Sunday!!

Boyfriend & Colored Jean-ious

Like the punny title?
I crack myself up. :D

I'm lovin' how jeans have become a statement in and of themselves.
Boyfriend jeans, flare jeans, colored jeans, trouser jeans, ripped jeans, bleached jeans, and so on!
My favorites have to be the boyfriend and colored jeans.
If you don't have a pair of either, get your buns on over to Forever 21 and buy a cheap pair!

These pics are from the Anthropologie Facebook page.
I just love how these little outfits are put together.
These ones make for great inspiration on how to style those new jeans you just bought from Forever 21 :)
I love love LOVE this look! The feminine top, shoes, and accessories with the boyfriend jeans makes for such an adorable and fun outfit. Here's a tip for boyfriend jeans: make sure they are skimming the body. Although boyfriend jeans are inspired by menswear, they are made and designed for a womans body. It's not supposed to look like you are wearing dude jeans!

Yet again, a simple/classic look with such feminine and interesting details. This outfit is allll about the accessories. You could swap out the sandals for heels and the top for a dressier top, and voila! Date night outfit!
I used to avoid colored jeans like the plague, but now that I have a few pairs, I am absolutely in love. You could just through on a basic top, colorful accessories, and you are ready to go! It's a no-brainer outfit maker. I'm a short 'lil curvy girl, so I usually cuff my skinny colored jeans at the bottom and wear them with flats. It makes for an "Audrey" kind of look.
Not gonna lie, I haven't been on board with pastels ever in my life. Probably cause I figured pastels would make me look more albino that I already am. But for some reason, the pastels this season have more of a brighter tone to them, so now I'm totes lovin' the trend. I'm thinking I'll go for some pastel pink or yellow jeans this next time around.

How are you wearing the jean trend this Spring?

I love those days when you can throw something together at the last second, and it ends up being the bestest outfit ever. So comfy & cute!
I am dorkily proud of myself :)
I'm currently applying for jobs, and hoping for something good to occupy me for the summer.
Wish me luck!

Is everyone excited for the weekend?!
Cause I sure am!
Ummm, Avengers movie?

Gosh.
I love jewelry, clothes, and pretty much anything with bees or bugs on it.
Weird? Meh, don't think so.

So naturally I'm drooling over these.
