Boyfriend & Colored Jean-ious

I'm lovin' how jeans have become a statement in and of themselves.

Boyfriend jeans, flare jeans, colored jeans, trouser jeans, ripped jeans, bleached jeans, and so on!

My favorites have to be the boyfriend and colored jeans.

If you don't have a pair of either, get your buns on over to Forever 21 and buy a cheap pair!

I love love LOVE this look! The feminine top, shoes, and accessories with the boyfriend jeans makes for such an adorable and fun outfit. Here's a tip for boyfriend jeans: make sure they are skimming the body. Although boyfriend jeans are inspired by menswear, they are made and designed for a womans body. It's not supposed to look like you are wearing dude jeans!

Yet again, a simple/classic look with such feminine and interesting details. This outfit is allll about the accessories. You could swap out the sandals for heels and the top for a dressier top, and voila! Date night outfit!

I used to avoid colored jeans like the plague, but now that I have a few pairs, I am absolutely in love. You could just through on a basic top, colorful accessories, and you are ready to go! It's a no-brainer outfit maker. I'm a short 'lil curvy girl, so I usually cuff my skinny colored jeans at the bottom and wear them with flats. It makes for an "Audrey" kind of look.

Not gonna lie, I haven't been on board with pastels ever in my life. Probably cause I figured pastels would make me look more albino that I already am. But for some reason, the pastels this season have more of a brighter tone to them, so now I'm totes lovin' the trend. I'm thinking I'll go for some pastel pink or yellow jeans this next time around.

I GOT THE HOT PINK JEANS.

Yes, the ones I've been drooling over. 

For the longest time I've been very adverse to colored jeans, thinking they were only for those who loved the "Sean John" brand. Or for those who were mega artsy.

{Does playing the piano, singing, and being crafty considered artsy?! 

Meh. I'll never been an artsy hipster. Just of the nerdy artsy persuasion.}

 But now I'm head over heels for them and want them in every color possible.

{Ok, maybe not chartreuse. I will never get myself to like that color, no matter how many of my blog idols wear it. Nope nope nope, can't make me.}

I kinda feel like a pack of starburst, but when someone gives me a starburst...it makes my day.

Are we in agreement? Ish?

So being a starburst makes not only my day, but possibly other people's day too? 

It's flawed logic, but I'm diggin' it.

What I've learned since becoming a blogger:

Wearing an Audrey Hepburn/Carrie from Sex and the City inspired bun is not only stylish, but extremely easy to do on those greasy hair days where you haven't washed your hair for...holy crap, when WAS the last time I washed my hair?!

Lipstick can pretty much make any outfit. If I'm wearing a regular t-shirt, jeans, flats combo, I add me some lipstick and BAM. Hotness.

Colored jeans, flowered jeans, ripped jeans, you name it, is always a cool/cheap/easy way to vamp up your wardrobe...and your compliment intake.

Pinterest. I really don't need to say anything else about that one.

Anyone with a bf/husband struggles to find that balance between blog obsession and time spent with the bf/husby. My secret now is that I wait till he is at work or sleeping. Shhhh! 

Everyone loves anything vintage. Vintage jewelry, clothes, shops, shoes, and so on. 

Blog ladies are thrifting junkies. 

Ok, maybe I'm the only skunk here who is not a complete huge fan of thrifting. It's already hard enough to find clothes that are my size and fit good. Trying to find something that not only: fits, is in good condition, and is actually CUTE seems impossible to me. But, blog ladies do it, they find freaking amazing things and make them look brand new. Where does that skill come from?!

And finally, everyone is so dang NICE. Followers aren't a competition, blog ladies are sweet and awesome! They are having just as much fun as you are, and I don't know about you but I love meeting new people with the same interests as myself!

Those 70s Jeans

You know those jeans that you keep forever and ever cause you can't bear to give them away? Knowing that one day you will be able to fit in them again, and you are determined to keep them until that day comes.

That's what these jeans represent. My dark wash, 70s flare jeans from the Francescas sale rack. Not only were they a total steal, but I fit perfectly into them when I was at my lowest weight in high school. Like any girls weight, mine fluctuates when life and stress gets in the way. I'm all about being healthy, exercising regularly, and not being obsessed with a size.

As long as it fits nicely, looks classy, and shows off your style. 

Who the crap cares what the number on the tag is? Half the time it isn't even your real size, cause companies have this thing called a "vanity size", to make women feel better/worse about themselves depending on the size. 

How's that for mind boggling?

So today I decided to be adventurous and slap them on. Can I say they fit beautifully?

What an ego boost.

If I were to take one thing to a deserted island from my wardrobe...I would, without a doubt, choose my snakeskin flats. I seriously wear them with everything. Treat them as a neutral, not a vocal point, and you are golden. I've had at least one pair of snakeskin flats for about 4-5 years, once they wear out I'm on the hunt for a new pair! These ones took a while to break it but they were completely worth every blister. {And worth the 10 bucks I paid for em. Score!}
