Fall Style Pinspiration: Layering & Accessories

One big perk about living in Utah is having a "real" fall season, unlike so-cal where it is on average 75 degrees year round {that's when we take matters into our own hands and just pretend it's fall for the sake of sanity}. With the crisp cool air, the changing colors, and a season chock-full of holiday festivities; one of my favorite fall style tricks is layering. 

Some of my favorites are:

+ Tights under summer dresses

+ Tall boot socks over tights & under riding boots

+ Scarves paired with coats & sweaters

+ Button-ups under pull-over sweaters

+ Belted sweaters over dresses, or belted scarves

+ Printed socks with booties

+ Chambray tops layered with anything & everything

My other favorite thing about fall are all the fun accessories! With all the layering comes the array of fun baubles, knits, and leather to mix&match and play with. Although I typically love a feminine and classic look, I am drawn towards the roughness of ripped up jeans paired with leather jackets, fur scarves and plaid button-ups.

My favorites accessories are:

Adorable Christmas DIY Decorations

1. Burlap Stocking Tutorial

Here is a short list of the DIY Christmas decorations that I am dying to try!
{Of course they were all found on Pinterest, but I linked up the original sources}
These burlap stockings are adorable and it's an excuse to whip out my sewing machine :)

2. Glitter Spray Painted Sticks

I have a couple of vases that need filling with some Christmas cuteness.
I am planning on picking up some paper flowers from Hobby Lobby and then filling in the arrangement  with these glitter twigs!

3. Christmas Yard Lollipops

Put a PVC pipe in the bottom, wrap with cellophane, and line your walkway or driveway with these.

This is something I've been wanting to do for forever!
The theme I go for with my Christmas decorations is a Candyland feel.
Lots of candy, bright reds, pinks, and blues all throughout the house!

4. Advent Calendar

Such a simple & adorable countdown to Christmas!

I would put some candies and mini presents in those 'lil packages :)

5. Handmade Christmas Trees

Finally, these trees are to die for.
The base is made from a cereal box!
I guess I need to start buying and eating more cereal to make these...

fall style pinspiration

Pretty much I'm avoiding more homework right now.
BLEH.
At least I'm getting a little more used to school, seeing as how there is stuff to turn in now.

So, during my procrastination, I put together some Fall Style Pinspiration boards from my Pinterest!

What I love about the Neutral Pinspiration board is that most of those pieces I already have in my closet! {And I'm sure you have a couple of these pieces in your own!}

Such as:

My black moto jacket, olive jacket, fur jacket, boots, leopard print shoes, and dark jeans.

It hasn't been until I've gotten into the blogging world that I really knew who Kate Spade even was.
{Pathetic, I know}
Now that I'm officially obsessed, I am always drawn to her bright & feminine style.
I loooove the hourglass shapes, bright colors and classic style that the Kate Spade style embodies.
Hopefully one day I'll be able to afford her clothes, but fake it 'till ya make it right??

Pinterest Picks: Jewelry

If you haven't heard of Pinterest, you are one lucky dog because it is completely addicting.
Almost as addicting as: facebook, blogging, online shopping, and shoe shopping.
It's that serious.

It is an online site where you can see something you like, and you can post it to your own virtual pinboard.

It has an array of: outfit ideas, jewelry, beautiful heels, DIY project tutorials, how-to's, business ideas, recipes, workouts, inspirational quotes, cute printables, you name it they got it!

Only Thing to Fear, is Fear Itself

Last night was my first night of training for work. 

I was SCARED to death. 

I work for Provo Parks&Recreation. 

I have been a referee for Junior Jazz basketball {1st&2nd graders} and decided to suck it up and ref the adult league.

Yikes! 

I had to talk myself into doing it. 

No one is great at doing something the first time. {those freak of natures you know that can, don't count}

All I need is practice. And game time.

And making 15/hour is worth being yelled at. Right? 

I found these quotes on Pinterest and they actually made me feel tons better! 

One more reason I loooveee pinterest. And random side note, I decided to do the A-Z thing, sounded fun :)
